Bunnies!

The girls are officially in preschool this year and couldn't be more excited.  Their first day was September 6th and they have loved it so far.  They are in the "Bunny Class" and for awhile, actually thought they were going to turn into bunnies.  They were super excited about that prospect.  I think they realize now that is not the case, but that has not dampened their excitement.

We had a meet and greet with their teachers and other new friends the week before school started.  Elle went straight for the books when we got there and Kate headed for the kitchen.  They always kept their eye out for each other though and made sure they knew where the other was.  Especially sweet Kate.  She sought me out a few times too, and wanted to be held as she adjusted to her new room.  But she and another little boy did bond over the power tools.  :)  And Elle played legos with a few of her classmates too. 

Their first 2 classes were action packed as Elle got to be the "Big Bunny" on her first day - meaning she got to put up the sunshine on their weather board and the date on their calendar and also be the line leader to the playground.  Homegirl loves to be in charge, so she had a big time being the Big Bunny!  Their second class day was their birthday celebration AND Kate got to be the Big Bunny.  I sent them to school with some Rice Krispie Treats to share with their friends and they also got to wear birthday crowns and got birthday stickers.  Not to mention the special birthday song.  I'm telling you - they started the year off with a bang!  I was afraid when they went this past Thursday, it would be a big letdown, but they were still so excited to tell me all about playing on the playground & show me their artwork and what they had for snack, among other things.

I'm so glad they have such a wonderful, loving place to go to "school" and know in the blink of an eye, they will be in real school!
